Wet Soils

Browse our collection of wet soils below or filter and compare products using the plant finder.

Got a soggy corner, a low spot that floods in winter, a pond edge, or a rain garden? Our Wet Soils collection brings together native edible plants that handle saturated or seasonally flooded ground, from true aquatic plants like wapato, cattail, and pond lily to shrubs and trees like Pacific crabapple, red alder, and highbush cranberry.

Aquatic plants (wapato, cattail, great yellow pond-lily, panicled bulrush, and water parsnip) need standing water or constantly wet soil. The rest tolerate wet winters and moist soil but don’t need to sit in water year-round. Many also work well in rain gardens that catch runoff from roofs and driveways.
