Native perennial greens, roots, and bulbs, the original vegetables of the West. This collection includes spring greens like miner’s lettuce, nettle, waterleaf, redwood sorrel, and fiddlehead ferns, plus traditional root and bulb crops like camas, biscuitroot, yampah, wapato, brodiaea, and wild onions.
Unlike annual vegetables, these come back year after year with little care. Many of the bulbs and roots go dormant in summer and ship as bare-root plants in fall and winter. Several are wetland plants; see Wet Soils for those.
